Project Background

TECNO_EN-P project intends to make available an innovative enabling technology for production chain (TECNO_EN-P) to support the new technology development able to ameliorate the current filtering systems. These findings will permits to development a range of new DMs acting to improve the current therapies as well as an increase of therapeutical applications.

Aims

The project aims to develop new medical devices constituted by smart materials, acting to optimize filtration systems and make them more performing in 'insulation / depletion of the target elements. We could achieve the purpose thanks to the innovative TECNO_EN P-enabling system with their controlled and modulated specificity, and greater selectivity and yield compared to current solutions.

Results

TECNO_EN_P aims to develop new technologies to improve existing filtration systems. The materials obtained in the project will allow to: 1) combine filtration and selective removal in a single DM, reducing costs and disposal; 2) have appropriate speed flows and not change electromedical therapies; 3) industrialize the production process and provide for new therapeutic applications of DM.

Action plan

The project provides to develop applied research activities aimed to obtaining new generation of smart materials. Several small-scale samples will be produced for each target of cell or metabolites to deplete and after proper efficacy test, the best performing sample will be selected and then use for large-scale production. A major part of the project will reserved to evaluation of the safety, biocompatibility and efficacy of smart material , allowing to the final step of prototype manufacturing and material validation. Parallel, the project provides a better dissemination and improvement on the reference supply chain, thanks to creation of a demonstration laboratory.

PARTNERS

TPM – Tecnopolo Mirandola (MAB)

Microscopy Applied to Biology (MAB) is involved in new assays of biocompatibility and toxicity using stem cell un/differentiate versus a specific tissue. Techniques of advanced microscopy are applied to detect any kind of biological specimen adhered on a materials. Biocompatibility studies can be performed in an mouse model using in vivo imaging techniques.
